Greetings! It is an honor to be able to serve you and to be rector of the Cathedral parish.
For those who want a quick background here it is: I was born and raised at St. Patrick Church in Portland, MI. My parents and one of my brothers and his family still live there. I have three brothers (two older), one sister (younger) and nine nieces and nephews. The oldest brother resides in Phoenix, my youngest brother lives in Denver, and my sister is in Portland, Oregon.
I went to the University of Michigan for my undergraduate degree. I know I am in slightly hostile territory, but I think I will survive. I was ordained in 1997 after attending Mundelein Seminary which is North of Chicago. My first assignment was at St. Thomas Aquinas in East Lansing. Following that I was blessed to serve as the pastor of St. Agnes in Fowlerville for three years. I am not going to cover everything, but I have had the opportunity to fill various diocesan positions as well. Just recently I am coming from St. Patrick in Brighton where I have been for 11 years.
Priesthood is a great gift and blessing. I am humbled by God’s call and all the opportunities He has given me to serve and minister to the people of God.
I am looking forward to hearing your stories and finding out the ways God has been present to you and this community of faith. In due time, we will discern what God wants to lead us to next.
