The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is the process by which adults join the Catholic Church. It is intended for those who have never been baptized a Christian. It is also suitable for adults who were baptized Catholic/Christian, but have not yet received the sacraments of Eucharist and/or Confirmation.
RCIA takes place in a group setting within the context of the parish community. One is able to learn about and grow in relationsihp with Jesus Christ alongside others under the direction of a catechist.
Our group meets weekly from September through May and offers a great opportunity for faith sharing, witness, and teaching. After a suitable period of formation and discernment (including study, prayer, participation in worship), participants come inoto full communion with the Catholic Church and may recieve the sacraments of Baptism, Eucharist and Confirmation.
Know a child over the age of 7 or teen who is seeking baptism, eucharist and/or confirmation? They can go through a similar, age appropriate, process.
Contact our RCIA Director Kelly Miller at 517-484-5331 ext.316 to learn more about the process and when we meet. All levels of faith/church/religious experience are welcome! There is rolling enrollment. View the videos below to learn more about RCIA - God Bless you on your faith journey!
